The guide pair is a crucial actuating component of CNC lathes, commonly including sliding guides and rolling guides. Maintenance of the guide pair is typically performed on an irregular basis, with main tasks including:
① Inspect the guide rail insert strips and compression rollers on each axis to ensure a reasonable clearance between the guide rail surfaces. Adjust the tightness according to the machine tool manual. Methods for clearance adjustment include adjusting the gap with a compression plate, adjusting the gap with insert strips, and adjusting the gap with both compression plates and insert strips.
② Pay attention to the lubrication of the guide rail pair: After lubricating the guide rail surface, friction can be reduced, wear minimized, and rust prevention achieved. Adjust the guide rail lubricating oil quantity promptly based on the lubrication condition, ensuring proper oil pressure and maintaining effective lubrication. ③ Regularly inspect the guide rail protective cover: To prevent wear, scratches, and rust caused by chips, abrasives, or coolant splashing onto the guide rail surface. If the protective cover is damaged, repair or replace it promptly.
