Simply put, it is to enable the cutting tools on the CNC machine tool to find the position of the workpiece clamped by the fixture on the machine worktable. If the tool is correct, it will dry to the position you do not want it to, and in severe cases, it may damage the spindle!
We also need to know several coordinate systems mentioned in the previous article when it comes to knife alignment:
1. Machine coordinate system: The starting point position set by the machine tool manufacturer (do we need a starting point for running? This starting point is a benchmark).
2. Processing coordinate system: The correct position of the workpiece (similar to the longitude and latitude of the Earth). In order for the machine tool to find the correct position of our workpiece, it is necessary to determine the distance between the starting point of the machine tool (machine coordinate system) and the workpiece (machining coordinate system), which is called the relative position.
3. Of course, there are also some things such as absolute coordinates, incremental coordinates, and residual coordinates
