In the industrial alleyway of Lahore's old town in Pakistan, the agricultural machinery maintenance workshop run by Mohammad Abbas has been passed down for two generations. Until 2024, the core processing tools here are still a few old-fashioned ordinary lathes, files, and vernier calipers. The wear and tear parts of tractors and harvesters are all calibrated by the hands of experienced technicians. And now, the most prominent position in the workshop is a SMTCL CAK series CNC lathe, which has completely changed the business trajectory of this 30-year-old workshop.

Previously, Abbas' workshop had always had an unsolvable problem: the hydraulic pump of the tractor sent for repair by local farmers had high precision requirements for repairing the wear of the core cylinder body. It relied on manual cutting with an old lathe, and 3 out of 10 repaired cylinder bodies still leaked oil after being installed, resulting in a high repair rate. Many farmers would rather spend twice as much money and wait three weeks to buy imported replacement parts from Karachi than repair core components in small workshops. At the end of 2024, Abbas gritted his teeth and pooled his money to introduce this SMTCL CNC lathe. He learned programming operations from local service providers' technicians for half a month. Now, when repairing hydraulic pump cylinder bodies, all that is needed is to input the measured parameters into the system, and precision machining can be completed in one go. The tolerance of the repaired parts is controlled within 0.02 millimeters, and the repair rate has been directly reduced to zero.

Now Abbas' workshop can not only undertake the maintenance of core components of all agricultural machinery in surrounding villages and towns, but also take on rough machining orders for parts from three small agricultural machinery factories nearby, and the business scale has tripled compared to two years ago. He calculated that in the past, it used to take 3 hours to manually repair a hydraulic pump cylinder, but now with SMTCL CNC, it only takes 20 minutes and the accuracy is even higher. The monthly revenue has increased from less than 80000 Pakistani rupees to around 350000 rupees. What surprised him the most was that this device was particularly adaptable to occasional voltage fluctuations in the local area and rarely malfunctioned. Every time the local SMTCL technicians received a repair report, they could come to their door within half a day to handle it, completely eliminating the previous concern of "being able to afford it but unable to use it".

There are nearly a hundred family style repair workshops like Abbas around Lahore. In the past, they could only do basic repairs such as replacing parts and tightening screws. Now, with a small SMTCL CNC equipment, they can independently complete precision component repairs that only large factories could do in the past. Many small workshops have even started exclusive specialty repair businesses in surrounding villages and towns.
